Dr. Gillian has focused her career caring for moms and their children. She lost her own mother as she entered motherhood. This void, disconnection and loss has perpetually fuelled her passion to create an authentic safe space for women to be seen, heard and feel well taken care of in their motherhood journey. To reconnect to themselves and their body. The opportunity to walk with women through this sometimes horribly lonely, often joy filled, and always exhausting season has been a blessing. Each time another says, ‘same’, offers an assuring nod or let’s their shoulders down, her cup gets filled the void gets smaller and her drive strengthens.

Her clinical practice has been dedicated to helping expectant parents function with minimal pain through pregnancy, prepare their bodies for labour, support them through postpartum recovery and the transition into motherhood. Her passion sits heavily in supporting women in various stages of life. To normalize, educate, create understanding, connection and community. To create an authentic safe space for women to be seen, heard and feel well taken care of. To help them reconnect to themselves and their bodies through breath, movement and body awareness.

To all of the wise, strong and caring women I have met along the way, thank you. I’m eternally grateful to have shared this journey with you. I look so forward to connecting with you in the clinic!

I’ve always felt guided through life by the pull of my heart-strings and ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by the creation of life and in awe of the female body. I believe all women have a deep intuition & sacred female wisdom within and I strive to live an intentional life full of nourishment & mindfulness to fully unlock my own intuition and sacred female wisdom. By practicing yoga, meditation, acupuncture & spending time in nature, eating mindfully and exploring my creative side when crafting herbal formulas and products I feel an awakening of my divine feminine energy. I want to share my yoga practices, herbal recipes and Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge so that other women can feel this attunement.

From childhood I’ve loved spending time in nature, playing amongst the wildflowers with my two sisters and soaking up mother earth’s grounding energy. It was early 2016 when I began my professional wellness journey studying towards my RYT 200 with additional training in Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Nidra & Critical Alignment Yoga Therapy. Later that year I founded Mama Bear Yoga, and began sharing my heart centred yoga offerings focusing on nourishing moms and moms to-be. In 2018 I began studying towards becoming a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist at CITCM in Calgary, AB, which I completed in the summer of 2022 as well as completing additional training in cosmetic acupuncture, orthopaedic sports acupuncture & western herbalism. From my studies, clinical experience, teaching yoga and my own pregnancy & home birth of my daughter I have learned so much about wholistic ways of empowering mental, emotional & physical health. My fascination and appreciation for the female body has only grown and I feel incredibly grateful to support children’s wellness, couples TTC & women travelling through fertility, pregnancy & postpartum with natural wellness so that they can conceive naturally, thrive during pregnancy, experience an empowering birth & feel nourished postpartum. Mind, body & soul I am here to support you through your health & wellness journey as you travel into & throughout motherhood.

With love, Brittany
